Track Name: the Papersnares - Apostate
I would not have been bothered
if in bearing the cross, you intended
to betray your creed from the very beginning.
And all the lies and suzerainty
would not have killed nations
if you'd not said them so plainly.

Oh, apostate, grand deceiver,
I wish you but the best.
Though there may come a day when you renounce your ways,
no word, no gesture can repent for my bloodshed.

Years, long years, lived in shade;
mausoleum walls grown over with moss.
You cannot reclaim the innocent, slain,
and buried in the eternal dark shadow of the cross.

Oh apostate, who killed the redeemer,
may you fare well on your path!
As student and teacher, with corpses beneath her,
may you fade long 'to the past!
Track Name: the Papersnares - A Song for Maine's Disenfranchised
The telephone screamed out in the dead of night,
as if waking from a nightmare and praying everything's alright.
I walked to the phone in your plaid pajama pants.
I picked up the receiver, but before I got a chance

to speak,
to ask if you had saved our lives,
I heard your voice on the line,
crying out to me; you warned me they were coming tonight.

The phone clattered to the floor as I dashed back down the hall,
lunging for the battered Winchester on the wall.
I stole out the back door and headed for the coast,
shrouded by the collar of my army surplus coat.

I climbed
the staircase up the lighthouse,
and staked out at the top,
staring down the scope at my house
as a truck pulled up out front.

Jeremiah 29:11; John 14:27.
I am not a man of God. I have done what I have done.
I did what I had to, and none of it for fun -
but pleasure in the work promotes a job well done.
Track Name: the Papersnares - Birthright of the Code Talker
My limbs keep steadily losing feeling.
Every hair on my body stands on end.
The moon relays to me the sunlight that it's stealing.
The abyssal figures dodge into the shadows again.

I am armed,
I am dangerous.
Blood-starved, wanted,
Hopeless, faceless.

The hunters prowl the rooftops come each sundown.
Laser-guided rifles wrest control of weary streets.
A single refugee still haunts the ghost town,
defiant in the drone of marching feet.

Mercy, pleading mercy.
A remnant of a memory burnt away.
You and I both know they've come to hurt me;
I cannot promise safety if you stay.

I am armed.
I am dangerous.
Blood-starved, wanted,
Hopeless, faceless.
Track Name: the Papersnares - Nero Lake Rough Run
I had always had you to guide me.
You had always stood by my side.
The shining jewels of callousness are blinding,
and I left you with no one to hold you while you died.
The place of penitence rests high upon the mountains
should your disciples ever wish to seek me out.
The arachnids in these parts roam, free and boundless.
They kill without a shadow of a doubt.

I chalked directions on the biggest rock I could find.
I laid the stone under the overhang by the waterside.
If it rains, the stone should remain dry,
but God alone wills the rising of the tide.
Track Name: the Papersnares - Burn On, Burnout
The hot wind whipped flecks of blacktop into my skin
and deep crimson red started flowing from within.
I heard the animalistic roaring of the pistons down beneath me,
and as they exhaled, a thick black smoke engulfed me completely.

I'll keep burning on.

Later on, I tend my injuries in the dark,
cover my skin in gauze pads where it's been flayed apart.
I look like a patchwork puppet by the time I'm done,
and prepare to begin again come the dawning of the sun.

I'll keep burning on.
Track Name: Davey Halfbeard - Coming Home
Drive for miles with the sun in my eyes
Somewhere between Maine and going blind
I flip a switch and the radio screams
Local news with no meaning
Cause it’s you
Oh, it’s you
I’m coming home to
Air on my face and the road at my back
Counties lost in the states I pass
Salty air puts me back in my place
Like a roundhouse kick to the face
Cause it’s you
Oh, it’s you
I’m coming home to
The sun’s gone down but I still feel blind
I‘ve lost track of the miles behind
On thick air sails in your voice
Saying turn back now like I have a choice
When it’s you
Oh, it’s you
I’m coming home to
When it’s you
Oh, it’s you
Because it’s you
Oh, it’s you!
I’m coming home to
Track Name: Davey Halfbeard - Bad Manners
Drive up to Hamlin Maine
While there’s light in the sky
Find the cheapest place to stay
Where they won’t ask why
Look to the tree tops
Look down at the sand
Look to the dead horizon
Then down at my hands
Find the biggest guy in town
Throw my fists up and I’ll try to knock him down
Wake up bleeding
Try to stand back up
The room is empty
But I’m filled bad luck
I’ve got a 9 a.m.
Check out time
I don’t know where I’ll go
But I feel just fine
Find a bigger guy in an even bigger town
Get back in the ring and I’ll try to knock him down
I’ll try to knock him down
Yes I will try to knock him down
Track Name: Davey Halfbeard - Young Savage Things
Stare down the highway
Stare down the road
This diesel fueled engine sounds like it’s gonna a blow
Yellow teeth, white knuckles, orange hair
When it comes to inner demons
We’ve got more than our fair share
Roll the dice and place your bets
We are young savage things
And we have no limits yet
Out on parole
Out on the town
When people see us coming they will turn themselves around
Try not to kill
But we could try just a little harder
Everybody in this place is gonna go down as a martyr
Roll the dice and place your bets
We are young savage things
And we have no limits yet
Roll the dice and place your bets
We are young savage things
And we have no limits yet
Roll the dice and place your bets
We are young savage things
And we have no limits yet
Track Name: Davey Halfbeard - Hello, Me
This I tell myself
I tell myself this everyday
When I’m looking for the right words
With nothing left say
You’ve gotta hope what you got is enough
You gotta hope it’s enough
And this world can feel so small
Like there’s nowhere left to turn
And I’ve been there many times
So let me share what I have learned
You gotta hope what you’ve got is enough
You gotta hope it’s enough
And I’ve seen a thing or two
Hell maybe nine or ten things more
And I know what trouble sounds like
It’s knocking at your door
You gotta hope what you’ve got is enough
You gotta hope it’s enough
Nothing in this life comes free
Nothing in this life comes easily
You gotta hope what you got is enough
You gotta hope it’s enough
You can tell yourself you’re ready
You can act like you’re prepared
But don’t wait any longer
Just pretend like you’re not scared
You gotta hope what you got is enough
You gotta hope what you got is enough
And don’t worry ‘bout the future
Don’t get hung up in the past
Just enjoy the ones you’re with
And their time while it lasts
You’ve gotta hope what you’ve got is enough
You gotta hope it’s enough
I know just what this is
I’ve got it figured out by now
You’re just looking for excuses
But they won’t work anyhow
You gotta hope what you got is enough
You gotta hope it’s enough
Nothing in this life comes free
Nothing in this life comes easily
You gotta hope what you got is enough
You gotta hope what you got is enough
